About the role
As a Senior Engineer on SmartRouter, you build the system that classifies each request and routes it to the model that meets the quality bar at the lowest cost, and proves the savings with live FinOps telemetry.
This is a Senior role on our Platform Engineering team, London · Remote.
What you'll do
- Build request classification and routing across SLM, mid-tier and frontier models.
- Instrument inference cost end-to-end and surface it in real-time FinOps dashboards.
- Optimise the cost/quality frontier with evaluation and guardrails.
- Make routing decisions explainable and auditable.
What we're looking for
- Backend/ML-systems engineering with a strong cost and performance focus.
- Experience with model serving, evaluation, and multi-provider integration.
- Data-driven optimisation instincts.
- Comfort owning a system measured directly on customer savings.
