Chief Operating Officer (COO)
Scale the operational backbone of a high-growth production AI platform company — from delivery economics and compliance accreditation to team operations and governance.
Express interest →About Deliverance AI
Deliverance AI is the production AI platform company. We exist because 94% of enterprises fail to scale AI — not for lack of ambition or budget, but for lack of platform, governance, and delivery capability. We close the gap between AI investment and AI production for enterprises across regulated industries including pharma and biotech, financial services, retail, telecommunications, and logistics.
Our proprietary nine-layer platform — built around three core capabilities: Clarity (see everything), Govern (control everything), and Accelerate (ship everything) — is deployed inside customer environments with live workloads running on it from day one. We are not a consultancy that writes strategy decks. We are not a staffing firm that lends contractors. We are an engineering-led company with proprietary platform IP, a growing agent marketplace, and 15+ pre-built AI blueprints that cut months off delivery timelines.
Our engagement model is simple: Assess (4 weeks), Deploy (12–16 weeks), Operate (ongoing). Dedicated engineering pods own delivery end-to-end. Every deployment compounds the platform. Every use case ships faster than the last. Governed, observable, and delivering value from day one.
About the role
The COO will be the operational engine of Deliverance AI, responsible for translating ambitious commercial and engineering goals into repeatable, scalable execution. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will own the operational systems, processes, and team structures that allow the company to deliver production AI platforms to enterprise customers while growing rapidly and maintaining the engineering rigour that defines our brand.
This is a genuinely broad leadership role. You will oversee delivery operations (ensuring engineering pods are staffed, utilised, and delivering to time, quality, and margin targets), lead compliance and accreditation programmes (ISO 27001, SOC 2, Cyber Essentials Plus — critical for selling into regulated industries), manage internal planning rhythms (OKRs, quarterly planning, board reporting), and build the operational infrastructure that supports every function.
Our business model blends Assessment revenue, Deployment engagements, and recurring Operate/platform revenue. The unit economics, pod utilisation, and conversion rates between these stages directly determine our financial trajectory. The COO needs to understand these dynamics deeply and build the operational levers that optimise them.
What you will do
- Design and implement operational frameworks — planning cycles, OKR processes, resource allocation, and governance structures — that enable Deliverance AI to scale predictably and sustainably.
- Oversee delivery operations across the Assess → Deploy → Operate lifecycle, working with Engagement Leads to ensure engagements are staffed, tracked, and delivered to time, quality, and margin targets.
- Lead compliance and accreditation programmes — ISO 27001, SOC 2, Cyber Essentials Plus, and sector-specific certifications required for pharma, financial services, and government customers.
- Build and manage vendor and supplier relationships across infrastructure, tooling, professional services, and corporate operations.
- Establish financial and operational reporting that gives the leadership team and board clear visibility into pod utilisation, engagement economics, conversion rates, and growth trajectory.
- Partner with the Head of Finance on budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and investor reporting.
- Partner with the Head of HR/People on organisational design, hiring plans, and culture as the team scales from early stage through rapid growth.
- Act as a trusted operational partner to the CEO, helping prioritise and sequence the many competing demands of building a company from the ground up.
What we are looking for
- 10+ years of progressive operational leadership experience, with at least 3 years in a COO, VP Operations, or equivalent role at a technology company.
- Demonstrable experience scaling operations in a high-growth environment — ideally from early stage through a significant growth phase.
- Strong understanding of professional services delivery economics, pod utilisation, and resource management in a consulting, platform, or managed services business model.
- Experience leading compliance and accreditation programmes (ISO 27001, SOC 2, Cyber Essentials Plus, or equivalent) is highly valued.
- Financial literacy — comfortable with P&L management, unit economics, blended revenue models (services + platform + recurring), and investor-grade reporting.
- Excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to build high-performing teams across multiple functions.
- A pragmatic, systems-thinking approach — you build processes that are as simple as possible but no simpler, with operational discipline as a core value.
- Deep alignment with Deliverance AI's mission and brand values: engineering rigour, radical transparency, customer obsession, operational discipline, and compounding value.
